Oct. 21, Friday

4:22 PM
2nd day. . .

That we spent working at the boy's home. :)

Today we worked on clearing dirt, mud, weeds and grass from around the soccer field, and I remembered my camera so you'll actually be able to see the significance of that! Randy went around chopping with a machete and was followed by someone hacking with a how and pulling the debris off the brick shelf it was growing onto that surrounded the field and into the drain channel where people were coming behind with shovels to scrape off the caked earth and rakes to make piles that would be transferred into a wheelbarrow and moved else where for dumping.
(Run on sentence. . . Complete. Have a nice day.)

We've left a little early because today is a league game for the church's basketball team. It's funny to think of sports as a major ministry, but the church has it's own leagues it runs for every age group (and when I say 'every', I MEAN every) and has* a team that plays in a local church league. Because sports are so big over here, the churches use it as an outreach by allowing non-church members to play in a game if they attend a service.

Isn't it kind-of awesome seeing churches over here work together like that? :)

Well. . . awesome for me to see it and for you to hear about it anyway. ^___^;

*HOLD IT! Jaymi just told us to look as we were going over a bridge and the river was filled with soap suds!?
